Textile and Clothing

Inspection

Maintaining high-quality standards is of utmost importance for importers, manufacturers, and brands in the highly competitive clothing industry. In order to achieve customer satisfaction and protect brand reputation, ensuring top-notch product quality has become increasingly important.
The main tests conducted during textiles and garment inspection include needle damage, seam slippage, color shading, humidity content, symmetry checks, zipper tests, button and snap tests, measurement checks, rub tests, fitting checks, barcode scanning, and GSM checks.

Apparel Standard Testing: How To Do It

Fabric Performance Test : In these tests, fabric characteristics are assessed, including strength, abrasion resistance, colorfastness, shrinkage, and colorfastness to crazing. Standard tests include ASTM D5034, ASTM D2261, and ASTM D3511, which evaluate the fabric's properties.

Seam Strengths Test : Seam strength is crucial for garment durability. Standard tests, such as ASTM D1683 (Trapezoid Tear Strength) and ASTM D1682 (Breaking Strength and Elongation), can evaluate seam strength.

Dimensional Stability Tests : The purpose of these tests is to determine whether garments maintain their shape and size after laundering or other treatments. Among the relevant tests are ASTM D5587 (Shrinkage), AATCC 135 (Dimensional Changes in Automatic Home Laundering), and ISO 5077 (Dimensional Change of Garments After Dry-Cleaning).
